1 Peter was saved before he was called to discipleship 2 Growth starts with personal soul winning. 3 Growth continues as we watch and imitate Jesus. 4 Jesus went outside to be alone and pray. 5 Peter asked questions, he wasn’t worried about looking foolish 6 Jesus washing the feet of the disciples 7 Jesus saying that one of them would betray Him. In this section, we see Peter indicating that John should ask Jesus who was the betrayer. 8 the 'inner circle’ receiving special blessings which the other disciples did not receive 9 In Matthew 14:13-21; Mark 6:31-44; Luke 9:10 and John 6:1-14 -- We read about Jesus feeding the 5,000 men plus women and children. This was when people refused to let them have time to morn. 10 The disciples were required to participate in the ministry. Those who do not participate do not grow. 11 Following that, Jesus forced them out on the lake where they were afraid to die. God tests us when we are weak and afraid. 12 In Matthew 16:22-23 and Mark 8:32-33, we read: “Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.” The Bible is always right, especiall when it goes against our religious traditions 13 Parts of the Bible must be understood spiritually 14 We must gain spiritual discernment 15 You must be willing to give up everything in this world for your relationship with Jesus 16 You are promissed blessings if you do prior point 17 Don't waste time fighting wrongs in this world 18 use Biblical forgiveness 19 You must have true spiritual life and not just outward physical signs 20 You must have an effective prayer life 21 You must adapt to the local culture for the application of the Gospel
